@joeysmom6074 No one could blow away my family at random. My family is armed. Our guns have been there to protect us during an attempted rape and an attempted home invasion. The police were not there either time. When called about the home invasion we were told it would take 45 minutes for them to respond. My moms .357 did not have a 45 minute wait.

@eyeammi Last time I read the 2cd amendment it said, the right of “THE PEOPLE” not the right of the militia.

Oh and the supreme court says you are wrong too. SCOTUS has ruled that the 2cd amendment is an individual right. Have fun playing armchair lawyer though.

If the militia is made up of the people and the people don’t have guns then you have a mob, not a militia.

@basspig Really? Last time I read the 2nd amendment, it said,

“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

So unless you’re part of a “well regulated militia,” or in other words, an organized group mandated by the public with the specific task of protecting the state, you’re just another asshole walking around w/ a gun for no other reason than to scare & get a rise out of the people around you.

YEH, The cops were wrong but the guy in the shorts is behaving like a spoiled little 5th grade bratt. dancing around, waving his hand in front of the one police officer. Seems to be trying to stir the gathering crowd up. He make OCs look like loons, which they are not.
The Gentleman with the sidearm behave very appropriate.

Cops are uneducated civil servant douche bags. They are pissed because they were too stupid to get a real job and make real money.

@kullanma~Have had many run-ins w/LEofficers around the country w/all my party buds(DUIs, drunk in public, assault, property damage, u name it). We were no saints. &never ONCE, was I ‘harassed’ by police even AFTER they knew where they cud find either me OR my friends. &sumtimes, sum of the shady ppl we knew NEEDED 2get followed by LE, &they still werent. So this strikes as minor paranoia 2me. If u wanna bump around town w/a gun, prepare2be scrutinized. Not giving ID, only compounds ur problems.

@Pealanor Why does the cop need to know anything other than that Dave Ridley was not breaking the law?

Disrespectful by not cooperating with the police. You are excercising your right to open carry but dont be a dick about it. It makes lawful gun owners look bad.

@brianodeci08 I believe the problem is that once you have given out the information you can’t get it back. You are then susceptible to being harassed by the officer or his mates in the future. Granted, that might not be the case in that town as I believe most law enforcement agencies are reputable but, I also know of a couple of towns where the law enforcement agencies are not reputable.

He was not as respectful as people make him out to be. He’s on the phone the whole time he’s talking. He’s interrupting people while speaking and not allowing them to finish talking.

The poor cop, why can’t the guy just tell him what he needs to know?

@marks661man- Right on, dude. Its dickstains like this that push the limits2prove a foolish point, that r gonna get the laws changed 2where I cant even own a gun 2protect my family. Theres a very simple solution 2this- If ur detained 4open carry, the cop asks u4 ID, u comply, get them the basic info they need 2determine that ur not a felon or hav warrants. And IF u refuse 2do that, now ur taking up police time/resources that cud b better used elsewhere. So the city/county BILLS u4 the officer’s>

    January 26, 2011 at 11:24 pm

    >pay 4 those 20min-hr of their time that u used up by being obstinate&refusing 2give the most basic information. When these brokeass losers get that bill in the mail, stating they MUST pay restitution 2the city/county, or face MORE fines/warrant4their arrest/imprisionment, &u watch just how quickly this shit stops. They already bill drunk drivers in sum states 4the police/fire/EMT services they rack up when they smash in2 sumbody. Shud treat these obstructing, resource-wasting OC fags the same.

Put the holster on your other side so you don’t have to cross draw and get rid of the Uncle Mike’s pos. Keep it up.

@elementz777 I agree. Sure he didn’t have to show ID, but he might have made it easier on himself if he did. I think this falls under the statement, “Just because you can do something, doesn’t make it a good idea.”
