Vonda Shepard – Maryland

In Ohio, can your employer make your drive your personal vehicle for work purposes?
My husband works as a mechanic and his boss always tells him that he has to take his car to go pick up other cars. Among wear and tear, we haven’t been getting paid for gas mileage, he has wrecked a car driving for work, and his boss still insists that he does. I told my husband to refuse to drive, but he is worried he will get fired. Is it legal to force an employee drive their car for work purposes in Ohio?

Answer: No employer can make anyone do this for free plus the liability will be an issue if he has an accident while on company time, I would never recommend that anyone do this.

Who wrote this material? She really owns this song. I’d like to imagine she wrote this. I must say she makes me think of Cheryl Crow …. on steroids!

@idontdothatdou I am over the first love of my life. It was in the late 90’s and lasted from 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000. I met someone else I loved deeply and had a loving relationship from 2003 to 2007. But he also decided to end it and it also made me feel sad. We were going to be friends but he lied to me and broke off the friendship as well. Like Ally, I’ve had a lot of sad relationships and remain single. Maybe I’ll adopt a little girl like Ally does at the end of the series.

@AmericanEvita Please be over ”the love of your life” by now. There’s a whole lot of living left for you. Do it happy and Stay Well.

that was one of my favorite shows ever and i LOVE vonda so much! the meaning of this song to me is that sometimes you just have let certain dreams go and embrace the life that you’ve got.

I’m not a big fan of Vonda, but this song touches to my very core. And the more i grow older, the more I understand the “Maryland” in people. Great performance by her. 5 stars

She has the most amazing deep, almost african american voice. The first time I heard her I thought of all those amazing black divas, it took me ages to realise she was white. Amazing vocal ability.

I never found it to be a self involved show. It was actually very realistic in terms of it emotional aspects. Many women could relate to Ally Including myself. In the late 90’s the love of my life left me and i was very sad and the wound hasnt truly healed after all these years. The show was very beautiful. The songs were magical!

I’m originally from Maryland myself, but for my entire adult life I have lived outside of the state for one reason or another. Whenever I go back it always feels good! Long live Maryland!
